美东几个州关于中国驾照是否能使用情况

查询了各州的DMV，相关政策如下：

international driving permit(IDP),就是大家经常说的国际驾照，但中国没有办理国家驾照的资格，所以如果中国驾照是不可能获得IDP的。折中办法，使用新版带英文驾照和公证中国英文驾照的翻译作为IDP的代替，但不是合法的IDP，只能看当地警察或租车公司是否严格。

Washington DC （不是华盛顿州，属于哥伦比亚地区 DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA （DC））:
没有相关法规说明国外驾照是否可以使用，但说了国外驾照如何获取本地区正式驾照。http://dmv.washingtondc.gov/pdf/dltest.pdf
Foreign Nationals that possess a valid out-of-country or out-of-state driver license that would like to obtain a DC driver license will be required to take and pass the knowledge and eye examinations.（国外或外州已有驾照需要获取DC地区驾照需要参加知识和视力测试。）
Pennsylvania 宾夕法尼亚：

Foreign License Holders: Pennsylvania honors a valid foreign driverʼs license with an international driving permit for a period of up to one (1) year. If the foreign license and/or international driving permit expire before one (1) year, the individual must apply for a Pennsylvania learnerʼs permit to continue to drive in this state. All holders of foreign licenses must apply for a Pennsylvania learnerʼs permit if they wish to obtain a Pennsylvania driverʼs license. Reciprocity agreements exist with the countries of France and Germany allowing for the transfer of a valid non-commercial driverʼs license without road or knowledge testing; Vision Test will be administered.（可以用本国驾照和IDP搭配起来使用，但本国驾照和IDP必须还有1年以上的使用期，否则必须参加考试。）


New York 纽约州：

A valid driver license from another country is also valid in NYS. You do not need to apply for a NYS driver license unless you become a resident of NYS.（纽约州承认中国驾照，除非你是纽约州居民，否则你不需要获得纽约州驾照）

According to NYS law, a resident of another country can get a NYS driver license. The DMV does not recommend this because: （其他国家的公民可以获得纽约州驾照，但是我们不推荐，因为：）
NYS recognizes your foreign driver license if you remain a resident of the nation that issued the license. You do not need to have a NYS driver license to drive in NYS unless you become a resident of NYS.（如果你是中国驾照并且还是中国公民的话，你不需要获得纽约驾照州驾照就可以在纽约州驾驶）
International Driving Permit:An International Driving Permit is not a driver license.The permit only verifies that you hold a valid driver license in your home country. Your foreign driver license, not the International Driving Permit, allows you to drive in NYS. Contact the authorities in your home country to get an International Driving Permit. If you are not a resident of the US, you cannot apply for an International Driving Permit in the US.(IDP并不是驾照，它只是认证了你在他国的驾照。是你的中国驾照允许你在纽约州驾驶，并不是IDP。你不是US公民的话不能在美国申请IDP)

If you are a visitor from another country, you may drive private passenger vehicles in
Massachusetts for up to one year from your date of arrival in the United States provided you
have a valid driver's license issued by your home country and your country is recognized
under one of the conventions listed in Appendix A or the Registrar has specifically granted
driving privileges to residents of your country as detailed in Appendix A. An International
Driver's Permit is not required, but the permit may help provide an English translation of your
foreign license. The International Driver’s Permit is not a driver’s license.
You must have your valid out-of-state or foreign driver's license in your possession when
driving in Massachusetts.（外国人可以用他本国驾照在马萨诸塞州驾驶一年，但你的驾照必须是附录A中的国家，很可惜中国不在其中，中国没有加入，所以美国驾照在中国是不能用。香港丶澳门丶台湾的驾照可以）
就是说中国驾照在马萨诸塞州不能使用。（我的波士顿看来只能坐bus去了）

New Jersey 新泽西

Visitors with a foreign driver license who travel to the United States should carry an IDP or attach an acceptable English translation to their national driver licenses.The IDP is translated into the official languages of the United Nations (including English) and is useful in traffic emergencies. Non-citizens must obtain the IDP in their native country before traveling to the United States.（外国游客可以带上本国驾照和IDP或可接受的本国驾照的英语翻译，它们在交通事故有作用。）
新泽西可以接受中国驾照，并且和纽约一样不强制需要IDP
